This was Michael Vicks response to the NFL when he was suspended. Does this look like a guy who's sorry for these atrocities?
Fifty-three dogs later were recovered; six died.
Please, save the pit bulls-are-bred-for-fighting-these-aren't-house-dogs argument for some fool.
A line of 20 kennels looks like a string of prison cells.
In a two-story building, three squares of blood-spattered floorboard are missing after being sawed out for evidence. Upstairs, where fights were staged, window blinds now are open. No sun shines through.
Small, scattered dog houses are chewed and mangled. Abandoned chain-link pens are filled with leaves.
A shed is the birthing house. A rape stand mentioned in the indictment is nowhere to be found.
A car axle stands in the dirt. Weightlifting plates dogs were forced to pull on chains in a "merry-go-round" training technique to build power lay nearby.
Sights and smells overwhelm. … A dog collar hangs from a wall. The unmistakable whiff of dogs lingers in a shed. A bag of "Happy Hound" dog biscuits lays on a floor, as does a piece of tin with the No. 7.
Outside, over sized dog dishes are made of cement.
"Can't bite 'em or chew 'em," Todd says.
I ask the builder what he surmised Vick could have been thinking when he had the house built to serve as headquarters for the clandestine operation in 2003.
"No way he knew the consequences — no way," he says. "But him doing what he did is no more right than (the government) charging him (almost) $1 million to keep them damn (surviving) dogs alive. I mean, c'mon, where are the freakin' dogs staying, the Hilton?"
Not a bad idea, particularly compared to this dog house of horrors. I leave, wishing I had never come.
I know there has been alot of media around this disturbed psychopath already but I feel compelled to speak on it. Today, Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months in jail for leading a dog fighting ring called Bad Newz Kennels. He held these dog fights on his property in Virginia and in the process participated in the slaughter of dogs. I personally find the sentence of 23 months weak but in the current justice system it's actually a pretty tough sentence considering animals are only property (especially in a hunting happy hillbilly place like Virginia). I think a better sentence would've been at least 10+ years without the possibility of parole. You see, no matter how you feel about animals you cant deny that what he did underscores a much deeper issue. No truly sane, normal, human being would strangle dogs to death with their bare hands as he did. That takes a special kind of person. The same kind of person that serial killers, child molesters and rapists spring from. Pure Evil.
The man and his people are without doubt in need of serious psychiatric help. I would not be surprised to learn that he treats woman badly, owns a small army of guns and weapons, and hates gays. He's scum and even though he's in jail, lost his house and his contract-it's not enough. Why? Because in 24 months he'll be resigned and back on the fucking field playing football. We all know it. He's truly not sorry for what he did. He's just sorry he got caught. The NFL isn't sorry he did it. They're sorry they lost a source of revenue-at least for now.
As I've been listening to the news reports about his conviction all I'm hearing is how the judge was upset because he lied, and because he let down the millions of kids that look up to him. Very few people are even talking about the fact that HE KILLED DEFENSELESS ANIMALS WITH HIS BARE HANDS FOR "SPORT". That's why he should be in jail. Either way though he was convicted and he is paying for his crime somewhat. At least it's a step in the right direction.
Here is a report filed by a USA today reporter when he visited the property where it was done. He describes the area and what he sees. At the end is a quote by a near-by resident underlining what I just said above. People just don't get it.
USA TODAY
Electrocution, drowning and strangulation were the preferred forms of death, execution-style, by human hands. They were not culled for "sport" — this was torture for some sort of sadistic human "pleasure."

A mound of dirt is piled alongside a hole where investigators uncovered slaughtered dog carcasses.

What can I say after reading your most recent posts and then veiwing some of the videos. I like to think of myself as one that is pretty educated with most issues, but probably like most, I was totaly surprised. I cannot believe that this is what actually happens on a daily basis. I am embarrased by my own ignorance. What Paul is doing with his blog is awesome. If he can reach just one person, what a difference it will make. Keep educating us all Paul.
