Mexico City isn´t all that....

Well it´s been a good couple of days. Rose arrived without incident and we´ve been running around the city ever since. We really havent done anything that´s authentic mexican but we´re still having fun. Today we visited Perisur Mall to see The Body Shop. I was VERY surprised to see the wealth on display in the mall and in the houses around the mall (I´m talking Beverly Hills style mansions!!!). My ignorance prevented me of thinking there might actually be money here-but there is. The funny thing is that most of the shops we saw we´re the same price or MORE expensive than in America. Very weird! Even The Body Shop had items 50% more expensive than in the USA. This really shocks me. I bought tea tree wipes and a small hemp hand protector and it came to $25 (us). It would cost me without discount about $16 in the states. All the shops were like that. Anyway... enough about the damn mall.

We contacted Melania today and she is going to spend the day with us on Wednesday showing us around. She is one of the most amazing people I´ve ever met. I truly love her. For those of you that don´t know she is the Area Manager of Mexico and frankly is the Queen of the Body Shop. She kicks my ass in performance and is as passionate about TBS as I am. She is just AWESOME! Can´t wait to see her!

Tomorrow we´re going to see Teotihuacan and I just might have a stroke before I go I´m so excited! These will be my first pyramids in person and IT´S JUST INCREDIBLE! I can´t believe I´m going to climb real pyramids! We are going to see if there is an INN or lodging there and we might spend the night so we can really take 2 days to see the whole complex (it´s incredible and probably two to three times bigger than the ones in Egypt). This is the kind of stuff I live for when I travel-culture, history, and raw experience! SOOO COO!

Aside from that I have to say that I´m not a fan of Mexico City. It´s dirty, overcrowded, polluted and it SMELLS TO HIGH HEAVAN of sewer, piss and spicy food. WHAT A MIXTURE! Also the people are assholes. If one person laughs at me I will go balistic on them. I totally know what it feels like to be a celebrity I´ve been stared at so much. People are rude, mean and just plain bitchy. I guess if I lived here I would be too but damn if you´re that unhappy in life put a gun to your head and stop making everyone else unhappy (yes that was harsh). I´ve been to poor countries before (Romania) but at least there were cool people there and you were treated with respect (Bogdan is falling off his chair laughing in disbelief!). Really Bogdan, I had great experiences with the people in Romania but here it´s just plain- YUCK! I´ve met a few good people but to be frank they´re at the hotel-so they kinda have no choice. Anyway...it´s only been a few days so maybe my perception will change with time and by experiencing more things, but to be honest I doubt I will ever come back here voluntarily ever again.

Aside from that I am having a good time and I´m glad I came. At least I know now that Mexcio City isnt my thing. I´m sure the resorts and the southern part of Mexico are awesome so maybe I will go there one day.

Hope all is well and I will post again once we come back from the Pyramids.

Paul
