Bomb wielding Puppies?????

I was thinking today about the small differences between Europe and America. Some are good, some are bad, but for me they're the reason why I love europe so much...some thoughts an rants... And Bogdan-yes it's a long post but you better read it you illiterate fool...

  1. The Dutch put mayonaise on EVERYTHING. I was in heavan the other day when I discovered a Subway that had just opened up (the first in Holland) and I was so ready for a Subway sub. The woman in front of me ordered a meatball sub with cheese AND MAYO! I was like eeeeew. The mayo on the fries I can deal with but on a meatball sub? I dont ever see myself picking up the Dutch fascination with MAYO.
  2. The news here is VERY different from the Usa. Even the international editon of CNN is different in that it's free of the tabloid reporting of it's American cousin. It's actually very refreshing. It's a emotionless, opinionless reporting of the facts. Of course that's how the BBC is as well, which makes them the best news organization in the world as far as I'm concerned. They show stories on Africa, Asia, etc. that are intelligent and probing. American news is severly mssing this. We're too concerned about the supicious puppy that was seen in the parking lot that looked like it might be carrying a bomb-RUN! HIDE YOUR CHILDREN! AMERICA IS UNDER ATTACK BY BOMB WIELDING PUPPIES TRAINED IN AL-QAEDA PUPPY MILLS!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!
  3. Imagine this life....Living in Amsterdam...taking the train to Brussels in the afternoon with your mate for an early dinner. After dinner you walk through the grand Palace and marvel at the beauty of it all. Then you take the last train back to amsterdam which get's you there at about 10pm and you go to your favorite coffeeshop for a nightcap of Hot Chocolate. You wander home and drift asleep in a hazy comfortable mood. If it's the weekend you can just stay in Brussels and hang out or take your pick of any 2 dozen plus countries that are as close to you as New York is to DC and Boston is to New York. Once a month you take this trip, to a different place and experience a different culture. This is what I magine. I know this isnt what a lot of people that live in Europe do...but I would if I lived here.
  4. Sasha Bartlett Cohen is the funniest man out right now. HE'S FUCKING HILARIOUS! You probably know him best as Ali G-the comic from HBO. He also has another character named BORAT that is drop dead ball busting funny. Thier is a new movie coming out which is about this character coming to the USA. Do yourself a favor and go see it. The guy is a genius.
  5. Tony Blair is a fucking bitch. That's all I'm saying. His speech to the Labour party this week was a joke and his supposed succesor mister Brown is a fake if I've ever seen one. Blairs popularity is at the same low levels at dick head bush (around 30%). So his decision to leave office within the next year is a good one. I wish Bush would make the same decision.
  6. I think the EU will dominate the world within 10-15 years. America will have to learn to deal with sharing global domination with the EU (if not succeeding to it) and that's that. Within 25 years China will take the stage as the next serious challenge to global domination and then India. I also see Africa uniting within the next 50 years (it's the only way more than half the countires will survive-they have to pull thier resources just like companies in trouble do). Don't argue with me-just accept it-because I'm right (do you hear me Holm?). I think the imminent addition of Romania to the EU will initially hurt that country. I personally dont think that Romania is ready. Maybe joinging the EU will help aleviate the social, political, and economic issues but I dont think so. I think the left over indifference towards children (leftover from Ceaucescu) - the issues that still exist with class - and the extreme hatred of groups like the gypsy's- are things that cant be ignored. Within a few months all the orphanges in Romania will be closed-not because thier are no more children to put in them- but because in order to get into the EU they had to get rid of them. Thier are still thousands of unwanted children in Romania and they are now being herded into the streets and with that comes drugs, prostitution and sex slavery. This is no joke and a serious issue that's being swept under the rug just to join the EU. What other problems will be swept under there? BOGDAN- You're comments????
  7. I visited the Anne Frank house again today and I just love it. I'm so swept up in it everytime I go. I really can feel like I was thier. The way it's set up really transports you back there. They have these screens on the windows that are pictures of how the view was out of that window when she wss hiding there. It's so haunting. It's sad to see as well that literally right around the corner from the house she was hiding in for so long was a church. Just steps away a house of God that is thier for protection and support couldnt do anything to help her. I noticed today as well that when you're walking around Amsterdam and it's a little cloudy and gloomy (as it was today) you can sense the evil that was here in the form of Nazism. The city looks exactly the same as it did from the second floor up of almost every building. You can really imagine the fear that was here. It's almost like it's a stain that will linger for a long time-popping its head out every now and then to remind us of what happened-so it doesnt happen again. I think one of the saddest things at the museum is this photo of a staute of Anne Frank that stands outside the museum. It's very recent (maybe a few years old) and on the base of it is a giant red swatizca that some skinhead painted on thére. This reminds you that over 60 years later these feelings are still simmering below the surface.
  8. I tried to find a pair of jeans today but let me tell you something. Eurpoeans have the most beautiful asses in the world. Men and Women. Tight, perky, firm and small. Now I have a common wide American ass and there is nothing that I can squeeze into. SO sad.
  9. European clothes are VERY different from American clothes in terms of style. Europeans can wear American clothes but Americans MUST NEVER wear European clothes. Just don't go there!

Well, that's it... Very long post I know but anyway...2 more days left. I'm dying here! However I have a week in Atlantic City coming up and the 10 days in Mexico. So I can't complain. Although I could do without Atlantic City...

PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

first of all mayonaise and butter r good on everything, second about romanian entering eu well i had the same opinion like u not to long ago but i kinda change it..and let me explain why or let me try explain it with my english lol.we have been a "close" contry for such a long time we need to get out we need to let people get in and invest here.if there will be no borders things at the begining will be hard like hell but in 5-6 years i`m sure we will start to feel the changes.in ur post u made romania souds like the last contry on earth..and is not like that..not even in europe not even in eastern europe.we have our problems but we have our talents to.and about the kids well yes we have a problem.but trust me i better live here then turky, bulgary or Slováky(i`m not sure i wrote it good but i think u got what i wanted to say).going to eat somthing now and buy some cigs.enjoy your last 2 days

i thought the same things in terms of investment and having more people go there, but I'm still very unsure how the country will handle the social problems. Like I said maybe the EU will help. I agree that Romania isnt as bad off as most people think (or as my post made it seem) and that there are alot of great things about the country (why do you think i enjoy coming there so much - the kids yes-but the country also). Also, i wonder how many Romanians will decide to leave the country and move to another EU country? I know they're making it harder for Romanians and bulgarians to do that because it's been a huge problem before, but still if I were Romanian and had lived there my whole life, i would want to get out the first chance I get-and bogdan i know you feel the same way. So if a lot of people leave-and presumably they're the better of the population because they'll have the finanacial means to do so-then who will be left to run the country around?
